The Vinton Chronicles

The Vinton Chronicles

Vinton Chronicles takes place in a world where superheroes have existed in common knowledge since World War II. The world’s first superhero, Alpha, was created by the detonation of the world’s first and only Chaos Bomb, a bomb composed of energy from another dimension. Chaos Energy would go on to shape the world in profound ways, turning the world of Vinton Chronicles into a combination of a fantastical, sci-fi utopia, crossed with a ‘world outside your window’ approach.

While superheroes and supervillains would become somewhat normal in everyday life: in larger centres people would need to pay for superhero battle insurance to protect their homes, and would have go-bags for evacuations. The international peacekeeping force, The Guardians, protects the average citizen. They employ superheroes to deal with large crises caused by supervillains, or natural disasters.

However not all superheroes are employed by government services, as many act independently. Due to an international incident in the early 1980’s, the the United Nations passed the Super Hero Protection Act in 1992, which entitles superheroes to have their identities protected unless they break too many local or federal laws in the process of trying to protect people.

As for Vinton itself, Vinton is placed geographically in the west end of the Alberta, Canada right in the foothills near the mountains. Vinton has a booming tech scene and reservoir filled with Chaos Energy, which one would think would make the city a hot bed of superhero and supervillain activity. However, recent changes to Vinton’s underground scene have rocked the foundations of the city. Superheroes and supervillains are no longer safe, and only a select few know why…

Taking place over five novels, The Vinton Chronicles is a series detailing the adventures of Jet Thompson and his allies and adversaries in the city of Vinton. From dealing with power-hungry super villains, the gangs of Vinton, and monsters beyond imagination, Jet and his friends have their hands full trying to keep the people of Vinton safe. But when their ideals of right and wrong are challenged, when their morals are pushed to the brink, will the teenagers show Vinton and the world what it truly means to be heroes.
